From 22. – 24. Of May Tour des Fjords will be held along the southern coast of southern Norway. Several of the world best teams will be competing, and the fight for victory will be tough. In the upcoming weeks we will be rolling out the teams fighting for victory, and today we have the pleasure of releasing Mitchelton-Scott, NIPPO Vini Fantini Europa Ovini and Team Virtu Cycling.


The Australian team Mitchelton-Scott will yet again be racing on the southern coast of Norway as they line up for Tour des Fjords. Known from their own “Backstage Pass”, the team has with their talents increased the already high level of Australian cycling to new heights. As a team they have won races such as Milano Sanremo, Il Lombardia, Liège – Bastogne – Liège and Paris Roubaix. Few teams are better at winning when it counts the most, and we can expect precise attacks and accurate finishes when the team tries to win again.

Sport Vlaanderen-Baloise - Belgium fighters

Belgium is known throughout the world for its chocolate, but to most cyclists it is also regarded at the home of cycling. Several great team and successful riders come from these fields and one of those teams with long history is Sport Vlaanderen – Baloise. Since the middle of the 90’s, the Belgium team has put their mark on every race they have competed in. Few team have fought more often or harder against the worlds absolute greatest. Now they are lining up again at Tour des Fjords, and this time they are looking for revenge after last years 2nd place. With an offensive and versatile team, we can expect to see a team really putting the hammer down.

NIPPO Vini Fantini Europa Ovini - Italian vibes

Easily recognizable in their blue and orange suits, the Italians are lining up. A young Pro Continental team with a young crew, they have it all to win against the established professionals. With a greater proportion of the team from Japan, they often race in Asia and have won stages at Tour of Qinghai Lake, Tour of Utah and Tour de Langkawi, where they also won overall. 22. Of May the international team will be lining up with victory on their mind.

Team Virtu Cycling - Danish comeback

Bjarne Riis and Lars Seier announced in July of 2016 that they would be taking over the Danish continental team then known as Team Trefor-Blue Water, as their comeback into the world of cycling. Together with Jan Bech Andersen they have secured the future for the Danish crew. Team Virtu Cycling also houses a lady team with several international stars and two Norwegian alibies. With two international professionals returned home on their team, the ambitions for 2018 are high. Last year the team really put their mark on the peloton and won two Norwegian UCI races in the same weekend. Now they are lining up at Tour des Fjords for the fifth time and with the expertise they have on hand and Michael Skjelde as Sports Director, we are not to be surprised if they return to Denmark with great results.
